Auto auctions are held on weekdays, visitors
will generally be accepted in company of an authorized
member. Vehicles are usually previewed the day
before and can be taken away immediately after purchase.
A visit to Japan is also strongly recommended when purchasing a new
car.

TRAVEL TIPS
-When flying from Europe, preferably use direct flights offered by KLM twice
weekly, your final destination is CHITOSE International Airport
(Sapporo). (discount airfares from
£500/JPY
85,000 return London/Chitose)
- For visitors from other
destinations, convenient connecting flight by Korean
Air between SEOUL Korea and CHITOSE Japan. Seoul
can be easily reached from Singapore, Hong-Kong, South Pacific, Africa, etc.,
- Plan to arrive on a week-end
to rest and start fresh on Monday. Main auctions are on Wednesdays
and Thursdays, smaller auctions are held from Tuesday through
Fridays, preview is done the day before.
-If connecting from Narita or
Kansai airports, approx. one hour flight with departures about
every hour.
(purchasing domestic flights outside of Japan may
result in significant savings)
-Transfer time is about 45 minutes from Airport to city, yards or auction
sites (service provided).
-Excellent business hotels are available from yen 5000/$50/£30 per
night/person with breakfast.
-Daily expenses can be kept very reasonable (any
type of food is readily available).
-It is not convenient to carry foreign currency, bring instead yen cash or
yen traveler's checks.
-Your
Credit Card will be accepted nearly everywhere, but unfortunately
not
for car purchases.
-Keeping room, food and/or fuel stand invoices might permit eligibility for private import.
-Winter in Sapporo is very cold, so please come
prepared (can be very hot in summer!).
-No visa required for most visitors, but please
check
before flying.
-AC power is 110 Volts, color TV system is NTSC (as in the
USA). We are 8-10 hours ahead of Europe.
